CAAT is looking to appoint a paid intern for one year working as the organisation’s Universities Network Co-ordinator. The post will start at the end of July and has the potential to lead to a temporary staff role at CAAT after the internship. The main focus of this role is to inspire and support University students in the UK to campaign effectively on arms trade issues, develop a programme of outreach and training for new and existing groups, as well as linking campaigns on campus with CAAT’s main campaigns.
The Right Ethos was set up after our founder, Jonathan Dearth, had worked in the campaigning sector for 13 years, for campaigning organisations including Amnesty International, Shelter, Liberty and the World Development Movement. It was set up as a response to multi-sector recruitment consultancies moving in on the charity sector, and in particular not recognising that people who work for campaigning organisations are motivated by justice and long term change.
