Executive Director, Policy & Communications
Location: Home Based, London - Vauxhall
Salary expectation: £107,000 to £117,000

This is a full-time role
In this role, you will be responsible for setting the strategic vision for the leadership, development and delivery of an integrated Policy, Influencing and Communication approach both internally and externally, and you will galvanise people to get behind this.
You will champion and systemically influence health and social care legislation and relevant policy activity at a national level to create positive change for people living with cancer in the UK, and will lead a consistent proactive approach across all communication channels, putting Influencing and Communications at the heart of our organisational strategy and culture.
Furthermore, you will lead a team of 80 – 100 people and be a trusted senior adviser to Macmillan’s Leadership team and Board of Trustees on issues relating to reputation, policy development, PR and parliamentary influencing and campaigning, media management and internal communications/engagement.
You are a highly influential and charismatic ambassador with an infectious desire to create change for people with cancer. You have a proven ability to set and drive forward-thinking organisational strategies and priorities, preferably in an uncertain or complex environment.
You have a developed understanding of parliamentary procedures across all four nations of the UK, significant experience handling media relations and a track record of managing successful communication campaigns and events. You have very strong networking skills and can build relationships quickly with a wide variety of internal and external stakeholders. Furthermore, you have a proven ability to inspire and motivate large teams and manage large budgets.
