Media and Campaigns Officer

This is a full-time role
Dignity in Dying campaigns for greater choice and control at the end of life. They advocate providing terminally ill adults with the choice of an assisted death, within strict legal safeguards, and for universal access to good quality end-of-life care.
To also work across the sister charity Compassion in Dying. Both organisations are united by our desire to see people in charge of the manner and timings of their own deaths.
To maintain relationships with key journalists to ensure messages are conveyed to the public and develop and deliver campaign tactics and tools in a way that is most engaging to the media and the public.
To ensure the press office runs smoothly; setting and delivering media strategies; managing, supporting and recruiting case studies and patrons; monitoring and disseminating relevant media activity; developing and delivering campaign tactics, resources and events; and pro-actively securing media coverage.
To develop and deliver, with the Media and Campaigns Manager and wider team, media strategies for the campaign and individual projects and programmes.
An innovative and creative individual with strong press and media handling experience, with good contacts across online, broadcast and print media.
Experience of drafting and issuing comment to the media including giving interviews to TV, radio and other outlets.
An individual will enjoy working on a high-profile issue and is seeking to become more actively involved in campaigning.
