This is an exciting opportunity for a dynamic, creative and enthusiastic policy individual to join us and make a difference to the lives of people in Wales who are affected by Crohn’s and Colitis. Your role will be to develop policy and lead our influencing activity in Wales to achieve Crohn’s & Colitis UK’s strategic aims and objectives.
By working on the issues that matter, the role of the Policy Lead for Wales is to make a positive difference for people with Crohn’s and Colitis by using evidence-based research and policy analysis to influence change in Welsh Government policy, the NHS and more widely with decision makers across the UK. You may be working from home in Wales, or elsewhere in the UK, but will be part of our friendly and experienced Policy team working to influence improvements in health, employment and all aspects of life for people with Crohn’s and Colitis in Wales.
It’s safe to say all our lives have changed since the start of the pandemic and Crohn’s & Colitis UK had to adapt and change as well. We are looking ahead to a period of growth as we put the impact of the pandemic behind us and innovate and adapt further. We are confident the charity can continue to support those who need us, and our new organisational strategy will give us the direction and drive for the next exciting chapter in the charity’s future.
You will have a track record developing and delivering policy in a UK-wide context as well as knowledge of health services and the wider policy environment in Wales.
You will need to show experience of representing a similar size organisation, inspiring confidence and influencing change with health leaders and government officials in Wales. Evidence of establishing and maintaining effective relationships with external stakeholders is a must, as is proven communication skills including excellent written and verbal skills.
This is an exciting time to join the charity as the Senedd embarks on a new term, and you will be responsible for developing relationships with new Members of the Senedd and raising the political profile of Crohn’s and Colitis. A Welsh speaker is desirable for this role; however, it is not essential.
