About the Role

This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled and motivated Policy and Research Officer to join our dynamic and fast-paced team effecting positive change for disabled people in the UK.

As well as providing accurate and timely policy advice you will support the team and assist with preparing briefings on relevant proposals and legislation. Reporting to the Policy and Research Manager you will represent Leonard Cheshire externally, actively engaging with disabled people and other key external stakeholders.

About You

You will have a track record of policy and research work. You will have experience of engaging with the political system and of how to influence and achieve policy change. With an appreciation of disability policy, you will bring experience of engaging with campaigners and other interested individuals.

You will be an effective communicator with excellent written and presentation skills and a confident manner. You will be able to analyse and interpret complex information and data as well as drafting and presenting this material to a variety of audiences. You will have excellent organisational skills, attention to detail and the ability to prioritise work under pressure. You will be an effective team player who can work as part of a small and dynamic team.
