Senior Manager, Grants Communications and Marketing

Location: SW1Y, London

Salary expectation: £42,228 to £45,000

Application deadline: Wed 1st December

This is a full-time role

The Royal Society, the UK’s premier scientific body, is looking for an exceptional individual to manage its grants communications and marketing activity.

The Royal Society is the independent scientific academy of the UK dedicated to promoting excellence in science. Our Grants team manage a range of fellowship and grants programmes which provide research funding support for high calibre scientists in the UK and overseas.

We are looking for an exceptional and highly motivated communications professional to work within the Grants team in a diverse communications and marketing role, leading on the development and delivery of the Society’s grants related activity.

Ensuring that activity is aligned with the organisation’s strategic objectives, this exciting role will include helping to strengthen the Society’s reach with underrepresented groups, as well as highlight the work of the exceptional scientists funded in the Society’s grant portfolio of over £100m per year.

You will work to reach audiences across the research sector, both in the UK and overseas, developing and managing a range of communication channels and support the bespoke marketing and communication needs of the grants team, as well as contribute to cross-Society activity.

This is an exciting opportunity to support the Royal Society’s grant-making activity and to work as part of a dynamic and passionate team.

During COVID-19 our employees have been working mostly remotely, but we are now transitioning to a hybrid pattern of working in the office and remotely for some roles, and will be happy to discuss working patterns with candidates. Candidates considering applying should note that working outside of the UK is not permitted as part of our flexible working approach and travel from home to the London office will be at their personal expense regardless of location. With a fantastic historic central London office near St James’ Park, we hope to find an inclusive working arrangement that suits candidates.
