TalkingDrugs and Social Media Co-ordinator
Salary expectation: £26,317 to £32,029
Application deadline: Mon 13th May
This is a full-time role
Release is the national centre of expertise on drugs and drugs law. Our team provides free non-judgmental, specialist advice and information to the public and professionals on issues related to drug use and to drug laws. We also advocate for evidence-based drug policies that are founded on principles of public health rather than a criminal justice approach.
We are looking for a creative and resourceful individual to join our organisation in this varied and highly rewarding role. As the TalkingDrugs and Social Media Co-ordinator, you will work closely with the Executive Director in sourcing and developing content for Release’s online platform, TalkingDrugs. This will involve putting together original articles for the website on topics related to drug policy and harm reduction, as well as editing and providing feedback on the work of volunteers.
In addition to TalkingDrugs duties, you will help with Release’s policy research as and when the need arises. This can include examining data, writing and editing policy briefings, and/or more extensive research and aggregation of existing policy papers.
Finally, you will assist in managing Release’s and TalkingDrugs’ online presence through their respective social media channels.
The ideal candidate will have an active interest in drug policy, and will also require strong interpersonal skills and the ability to take a practical and hands-on approach. You will not only need to co-ordinate your own work but also that of the volunteers, so you will require excellent written and verbal communications skills ensuring that materials produced for the website are vibrant, accessible and engaging.
