We’re WWF, the leading global environmental charity, and we’re bringing our world back to life. We’ve been protecting nature’s wonders for more than 60 years. And now we’re leading the way not just to protect our natural world but to restore it for generations to come. By working globally with communities, governments, companies and others, together we can act and transform our world.
The WWF-UK Impact Committee plays a critical role in supporting the Board of Trustees. They assess, challenge and help shape WWF-UK’s externally facing work across science, programmes, partnerships, policy, advocacy and communications.
There is now a strategic volunteering opportunity available for new members to join us and help address today’s global environmental challenges with insight from across a number of disciplines, sectors and geographies. That is why we are looking for individuals who bring deep expertise and fresh perspectives, alongside a strong commitment to our mission.
As a member of the Impact Committee, you will have the opportunity to contribute to strategic decision making at board level, help us ensure impact and that our work is credible, inclusive and effective. You will have strong professional experience in one or more of the following areas:
- International business (commodities, energy, food sector, sustainable finance)
- International politics or policy
- External communications and media
- Brand and public positioning
- Safeguarding and risk management
- International development or conservation programmes
- Artificial intelligence and emerging technologies
Previous board experience is helpful but not essential as we will provide a comprehensive induction into our strategy and governance and provide a buddy system from within the committee.
Alongside your expertise within one of the desired disciplines, you will be a strategic thinker, confident in offering constructive challenges and independent insight, and in operating within a complex international or cross sector environment.
At WWF, we offer a guaranteed interview scheme, we are committed to high quality Equity, Diversity and Inclusion practices and to being an actively anti-racist organisation. We particularly encourage applications from groups currently underrepresented within the environmental sector, including people from ethnic minority backgrounds and disabled people.
