I am an award winning public affairs professional, qualified in law, with proven expertise in influencing legislation.
Influence legislation and you change the law. Many organisations lack expertise in parliamentary drafting, and in navigating the legislative processes at Westminster and Holyrood.
I can draft Amendments to legislation, and Private Member’s Bills, to meet your organisation’s campaign aims, and to ensure your public affairs work changes the law. I can also offer expert advice on influencing legislation at Westminster and Holyrood.

I pioneered digital-first political campaigning in the UK, and developed widely imitated models of fundraising, mobilising, and influencing. I now offer strategic consultancy to organisations and projects with a positive purpose. I can develop, overhaul and interrogate strategy; harness digital technology to communicate, mobilise, fundraise, and win campaigns; increase the involvement of supporters and members for fundraising and political impact. I support established organisations looking to improve and innovate, and start-ups looking to turn ideas into results.

Add to this, I have plenty of experience in managing projects, doing research, expansive writing skills and building partnerships with senior leaders – be they businesses, finance, NGOs, universities, governments and public figures.

The Right Ethos was set up after our founder, Jonathan Dearth, had worked in the campaigning sector for 13 years, for campaigning organisations including Amnesty International, Shelter, Liberty and the World Development Movement. It was set up as a response to multi-sector recruitment consultancies moving in on the charity sector, and in particular not recognising that people who work for campaigning organisations are motivated by justice and long term change.
