The Right Ethos is passionate about seeing the external affairs sector develop and thrive. Jonathan Dearth our Director worked in the sector for organisations including Amnesty International, Save the Children and Shelter and he knows only so well how important it is to draw on as many resources as possible.
We are committed to the communications and campaigns sector and want to offer free support to our clients to help facilitate their work and hopefully free up other resources for the vital work they do.
Our training partner runs courses near Charing Cross station, on topics including: Campaigning Essentials; How to influence and lobby government; and Developing a theory of change for your campaign.
This summer we are launching a newsletter with features and stories aimed at those at the beginning of their career. We will be offering free advertising for junior roles, internships and volunteering.
Our main newsletter goes to around 10,000 individuals working in the communications, campaigns and the policy sector. This is a good audience to reach to talk about your activities.
We’re based at the seaside, 72 mins from St. Pancras. Our clients are welcome to use the room for team away days. We will help support the day and give guidance to local facilities, so that you have a fun but well organised day.
For 9 years, we’ve been offering expert guidance, explaining how to increase the chance of getting a first role in the sector or how to develop a career.

The Right Ethos was set up after our founder, Jonathan Dearth, had worked in the campaigning sector for 13 years, for campaigning organisations including Amnesty International, Shelter, Liberty and the World Development Movement. It was set up as a response to multi-sector recruitment consultancies moving in on the charity sector, and in particular not recognising that people who work for campaigning organisations are motivated by justice and long term change.
