The Right Ethos was founded on the belief that non-profit organisations are looking for more than someone who just fits the job. It’s about understanding and believing in ambitions to affect real change, influence thinking and make a positive impact on people’s lives. Before establishing The Right Ethos, some of our staff worked in the sector for organisations such as: Amnesty International, Save the Children, Scope, Liberty, World Development Movement, EveryChild, PLAN International and Shelter. Our Director set up The Right Ethos to provide an alternative recruitment service based on what he thought was missing from other options. Originating from the non-profit sector ourselves, we understand what our clients are looking for and why generic recruitment approaches just don’t work for strategic and specialist jobs within non-profit organisations.
We don’t just think of ourselves as recruiters, we feel very much part of the communications and campaigns community. We feel passionate about bringing real solutions as the sector evolves and expands. We are very proud of our regular events inviting senior managers and directors to discuss issues affecting their organisations and the wider sector. We also produce regular e-newsletters circulated to our networks which bring together relevant and timely sector news, blogs from senior participants and highlights from teams across the sector.
Making a difference and affecting change across the non-profit sector our clients include:

The Right Ethos was set up after our founder, Jonathan Dearth, had worked in the campaigning sector for 13 years, for campaigning organisations including Amnesty International, Shelter, Liberty and the World Development Movement. It was set up as a response to multi-sector recruitment consultancies moving in on the charity sector, and in particular not recognising that people who work for campaigning organisations are motivated by justice and long term change.
We work with a range of clients in the charity and non-profit sector:
