NSUN is a charity and a membership organisation. We are a network of grassroots, user-led mental health groups and people with lived experience of mental ill-health, distress and trauma. We connect, support and amplify the voices and work of our membership and work towards the redistribution of power and resource in mental health.
We’re looking for a Public Affairs Assistant to support the important work we do to ensure policy makers consider dog welfare in their decision making.
This is a pivotal moment in our parliamentary influencing with the arrival of a new Government, and here at YMCA England & Wales we have created an exciting new role for someone to help us continue our important work in this space. The timing couldn’t be better for an experienced parliamentary operator to forge crucial new relationships across the political spectrum. Our policy interests are focused on youth; and the barriers and opportunities they face ahead. We work to influence Government on key issues such as affordable housing, access to youth services, benefits and ensuring everyone has the best start in life. The role will give you the opportunity to shape and influence real policies which can affect lives for the better.
The Right Ethos was set up after our founder, Jonathan Dearth, had worked in the campaigning sector for 13 years, for campaigning organisations including Amnesty International, Shelter, Liberty and the World Development Movement. It was set up as a response to multi-sector recruitment consultancies moving in on the charity sector, and in particular not recognising that people who work for campaigning organisations are motivated by justice and long term change.
